There are Upazila cooperative offices in each Upazila. This office is operated under the Department of Local Government, Rural Development and Co-operatives, under the departmental joint-registrar and District co-operative officer under the department. In the past, cooperative societies have been playing a significant role in the country by supplying agricultural loans and materials in the simple terms, using modern agricultural inputs, and encouraging the farmers in improved cultivation, marketing the product of manufactured products and creating capital formation and self-employment at present. On the other hand, the development of human resources across the country can also be specifically mentioned by participating in the formation, management and training process of co-operative societies of different occupations. Co-operative basis is: democracy, equality and solidarity and its aim is self-reliance and self-reliance. Co-operative expectations are: To develop well-educated and skilled manpower, regardless of democracy, corruption-free, transparent, accountable women.
